Whimsical Visions About the Artist
Norma, proprietor of Whimsical Visions, is a professional artist and framer with a vast array of resources. From her insightfully illustrated oil animal portraits to the framing of artwork, restoration of frames and photos, the customer will be amazed to find their expectations realized. Selection of materials for reframing always compliments and enhances her client’s artwork. Formally beautiful frames with damaged plaster relief, come to new life with Norma’s restoration techniques. Water damaged and stained fabrics and artwork return to their original state of vibrancy. She can create an artful display that will enhance the original work, such as a shadowbox that includes the provenience or origin or background of the work. Her pet portraits reflect, not only the pet’s physical appearance, but also capture their personality. All of this came through her talent and creativity, developed by her thirty years of experience and education and intuitive sense of quality in her work.
Norma started her education with three years of formal training at Ringling Art School. Since then, she has taken numerous courses in framing, wood working, techniques for antique frame restoration and other topics important to her work. She constantly reads the accepted and newest literature on chemical processes she must use to satisfy even the most challenging problems.
Norma donates her time to appraisal programs on public television, assisting clients with services in her field of art and antique frame restoration and preservation. Her special interest is clearly shown as she assists in raising funds for charitable organizations involved in helping animals. For these activities and more, she has achieved some notoriety
